  A good example of a chain restaurant. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food is standard across the chain and is good. For all access you would need to mention when booking as the are some steps to eating areas.

  The new menu looks amazing however the food was very bland. Starters were great and it stopped there. Salad bar was very limited several bowls of tomatoes to fill spaces. Amazing looking puddings on the dessert menu. Asked for one of these and all that came out was a glass full of ice cream with 5 munchies on top! Very disappointing. Bring back the old menu.

  Not my kind of fayre really but ok if you like that kind of thing. Popped in as the carvery had run out of food but perhaps wouldn't bother again. Although the staff were pleasant & helpful, I found the salad bar nothing short of drearily unimaginative with the dressing glutinous & plasticity which was really not nice. The food was tasty enough but the tin tray it was served on was loaded with jugs of this & that so in terms of actual food I found there was not enough of it. Like I say, not really my bag but it you like Harvester then this is the place for you. In terms of value for money I would give it 6 out of 10. I remember when this was a good historic coaching inn & when it was turned into harvester they chucked the lovely old cat & fiddle pub sign in the skip. This place is now a mere husk of what it used to be, a famous & historic old English pub, ruined.

  While this is a chain pub, they are not bad at all. The salad bar has good, fresh options and my duck dish was very good. Service is decent but far from perfect. Good place for families - very child friendly.
